Is it still possible to perfect the already fastest rear derailleur cage system? Ceramicspeed asked itself this question and worked on a solution with the aerodynamics experts from Drag2Zero. And it says: It works. An almost closed cage encloses the jockey wheels and the guide plates and ensures that the air can flow past unhindered. In addition, braking turbulence is avoided. Numerous tests in the wind tunnel showed that the air resistance could be reduced by up to 60% compared to conventional rear derailleurs.
The proven Oversized Pulley Wheel System from Ceramicspeed continues to work under the "shell" and ensures a significant reduction in friction. The large derailleur pulleys with 13 teeth at the top and 19 teeth at the bottom significantly minimize the movement of the chain links when passing through the cage, which is noticeable in the lower resistance. In addition, the enlarged wheels offer a longer service life than other commercially available systems.
Technically, the OSPW system is equipped with high-performance bearings and unique ceramic balls made of third-grade silicon nitrite (the best grade achieved for ceramic bearings). These balls are 15% harder, 100% smoother, and 99% more resilient than those of other manufacturers.
Compared to the already high-quality standard bearings from Ceramicspeed, the "Coated" version has a wafer-thin protective layer applied to the bearing rings. As a result, the latter becomes even harder, with a life cycle that is 60% longer and even lower rolling resistance. Therefore, Ceramicspeed ball bearings are considered the best in the world.
The bearing cage is made of carbon fibres, which have been reinforced with polyamide so that the forces can be better distributed and absorbed. As a result, your derailleur works perfectly, even in the most adverse conditions.

The system features a 13-tooth upper Pulley Wheel and a 19-tooth lower Pulley Wheel to optimise the rear derailleur. The upper and lower oversized aluminium Pulley Wheels come fitted with coated CeramicSpeed Bearings that have been perfected through years of experience.
The OSPW Aero for Shimano Dura Ace 9200 and Ultegra 8100 has an integrated stop tower for simple installation and durability.
Please note that while there are visual similarities in the 9100 Series OSPW and 9200 Series OSPW, the spring tension settings, rotation stop tower placement, and mounting pin depth are slightly repositioned, and the systems are not cross-compatible. The 12spd Shimano R-7150 105 is not supported at this time.
For 8100 derailleurs, the cage uses the factory derailleur body washer. 9200 derailleurs will require the new included derailleur body washer.
